Music for PlayStation - Mac Setup Guide

Note: MacOS 12.12 and up are known to have issues with game controller compatability. Please use MacOS 12.1 or below.

  1. Plug your controller into your Mac via a USB-C cable. Make sure the USB-C cable is one that allows data transfer.

  2. Open “Audio MIDI Setup”

  3. Select “Wireless Controller 1 – 0 ins/4 outs”. Right click on “Wireless Controller 1 – 0 ins/4 outs” and select “Use this device for sound output”

  4. In the bottom right hand corner, select “Configure speakers”

  5. In the top row, set Configuration to “Stereo” and View to “Isometric”.

  6. In the bottom row, set Left speaker to “Back Left” and Right speaker to “Back Right”.

  7. In the bottom right corner, click “Apply” then click “Done”

  8. Your audio should now be played back through the PlayStation Dualsense controller!

A white outline of a PlayStation controller with the text "Music for PlayStaion, Jesse Austin-Stewart" also in white. It sits in the middle of the frame with a blue background that gets darker as it gets closer to the edge of the frame of the image.
