Multiple Monophony (2020)

Multiple Monophony was a spatial sound art exhibition of new works by composers curated by Jesse Austin-Stewart. These works explored removing the sweet spot, by allowing listeners to have an equally intended experience, regardless of where they are positioned within the room. The composers have created works for a novel 12 speaker configuration, utilising a new compositional framework (the Multichannel Monophonic Compositional Framework), while unaware of where the speakers were positioned.

This exhibition features seven 12-channel works by Dave Currie, Blake Johnston, George Johnston, Mia Kelly, Hakopa Kuka-Larsen, Alexis Weaver, and Flo Wilson.
