This album was conceived as a way for people to experience the extended stereo speaker configuration (from the installation beyond nearsightedness) in their own home. The extended stereo configuration allows for and encourages the manipulation of the listener’s perception of space through the control of separate and discrete proximate and distal sound sources

For each piece, there are two tracks provided; one with the subtitle 'headphones' and the other with the subtitle 'speakers'. The listener is encouraged to play the 'headphones' track through a cell phone/media player into headphones, while playing the 'speakers' track from their computer through a pair of speakers 1 metre to either side of the listener. The listener should attempt to play both tracks at the same time, so they begin simultaneously and in sync with one another. The listener is also encouraged to play with and manipulate the relative amplitude levels of the headphones and speakers to create, in tandem with the sonic material, an interesting spatial result. These levels may need to be adjusted for every track.
